Our Thrive days are aimed at self employed individuals and sole traders looking to improve or maintain the balance between their business and personnel wellbeing.
As we head into a time of year that is traditionally busy for many sole traders, self care becomes even more important. We've put together a day programme that aims to help you optimise your physical and mental health over the coming months, so that you can make the most of any money making opportunities.
Bex Shindler is an Ayurveda lifestyle and nutrition consultant who creates wholesome recipes and menus through her business The Mindful Kitchen. Bex is going to share her knowledge of seasonal eating and super foods for the Autumn/Winter months. As a self confessed super foodie she's also going to share some ideas for creating quick, healthy meals for busy days.
We like to share the experiences of inspirational and aspirational businesses and Charlotte Meek of The Stitch Society ticks both these boxes. She is a leading expert in her field and has been championing sustainability within the clothing industry for over a decade. Charlotte creates sustainable, durable workwear which has minimal environmental impact and we are sure that you will find her journey to where she is now fascinating.
Musician, sound therapist and yogi Hannah Brabbs is going to be offering two sessions at Thrive. Hannah has been leading seated yoga sessions for the NHS and she is going to deliver an adapted version of this aimed at helping relieve the physical pressures of working long hours hunched over a desk/drawing board/jewellery bench etc etc. A range of stretches that can be used everyday to prevent or relieve musculoskeletal issues. She's also going to close the day out with a restorative and relaxing sound bath. If you've never experienced one of these it really is a magical experience that helps settle busy minds.
Nicky Xandora is a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist, a therapy that is highly effective at helping people manage problems through changing the way they think and behave. Nicky is going to explore themes of procrastination and boundary setting at Thrive, you can read a bit more about her plans for the day here https://www.thethriveplace.co.uk/blogs/news
Last but not least, Hayley Banks is a business coach and leading light at Design Nation, an organisation that creates innovative and inclusive opportunities for the contemporary design and craft sector. Hayley is going to share her vast knowledge and understanding of the creative sector through a discussion on common themes that arise during her coaching sessions.
All of this will take place in a relaxed, supportive environment and attendance in comfortable clothing and your favourite woolly socks is positively encouraged!
The day will run from 10am - 4.30pm at Littleborough Cricket Club in the Willow Room. The club has plenty of free parking and is a 10/15minute walk from Littleborough train station.
PLEASE NOTE:
Unlike the March retreat, food will NOT be provided at the September event in order to keep the price at an accessible level for as many people as possible. Please bring some lunch with you as one of the most important aspects of the day is the communal dining where people get the chance to talk (or listen) to others in a relaxed environment.
I really hope you can join us for what will be another magical, informative and positive day. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to email helen@thethriveplace.co.uk
PLEASE NOTE: There are two contraindications for Sound Baths: Sound Induced Epilepsy & for anyone who is 12 weeks Pregnant & Under.
