Postcards From Gaia šŸŒ

I wish I could have bundled you all up, tucked you into my crystal bowl bag & brought you with me to Blackburn Cathedral this autumn to rest beneath Luke Jerram’s breathtaking art installation, Gaia.

Last year, I had the honour of holding two sound baths beneath Luke Jerram’s other installation, Museum of the Moon, and this autumn I was invited back to share my music once again. This time beneath the earth, Gaia.

To be welcomed into this sacred space for a second year feels like such a blessing. This building was made for music & I feel so deeply honoured to sing & share my sounds in this truly sacred & spiritual place. I’m a little lost for words, truly. Both evenings were breathtaking ✨

As I sang and played, memories bubbled up too… all the times me and my mum used to wander into the cathedral on a Friday afternoon. We’d sit quietly for a moment or two, letting the hush settle around us, before wandering off for a cuppa at the Coffee Exchange and a good look around the shops!

Thank you, from the bottom of my heart, to everyone who came to meditate with me at Blackburn Cathedral. All 240 of you! To sing here - in a place built for sound, with gorgeous acoustics and endless reverb - is honestly a dream come true.

As I sang, it felt like I was offering a prayer to Mother Earth herself… a whispered thank you for her strength, her abundance & her constant beauty 🧔

To all of those who joined me, I hope you left feeling calmer, lighter, softer, brighter - ready for peaceful sleep, and perhaps carrying a little more wonder in your heart.

How often do we get to pause the world and simply be?

It feels like such a gift to create music in these breathtaking sacred spaces, especially beneath artwork that reminds us of our place in the vastness of things.

Gaia is a touring installation by UK artist Luke Jerram, created using detailed NASA imagery and measuring seven metres in diameter.

Suspended in the air, she appears as our whole planet floating gently before you…

The installation aims to awaken something called the Overview EffectĀ - the awe astronauts describe when gazing at Earth from space.

A sense of wonder, interconnection & a renewed responsibility to care for our shared home.

And that’s exactly how it felt.

What a night.

What a magical experience.

Thank you for being there, sweet souls.

My heart is bursting with gratitude,

Hannah xxx šŸ™šŸ¼šŸ§”
